In the latest rankings announced by BWF India’s HS prannoy rose to number 12th in World. It is heartning to see Indian shuttlers doing well at the international stage. The Indian men shuttlers and women shuttlers have been doing well in international stage. This is the best rankings for HS Prannoy.

In the women’s section Saina Nehwal is the best ranked player as she has jumped to number 2nd in the World. In the year 2015 she has won 2 tournaments and reached 1 final of All England Badminton championship in March. She lost in the semi finals 3 times and once in the quarter finals. Now the focus will be doing well on the World Badminton championship.

PV Sindhu is placed 14th in the rankings. She has not performed after coming back from an injury and would like to focus on training hard before the World championships in August.

As far as men’s section is concerned K Srikanth is the top Indian shuttler who is placed at number 3. In 2015 he has won the Swiss Grand Prix Gold. His form in the Super Series tournaments has been not great losing in the second rounds.

P Kashyap few weeks ago defeated World number 1 Chen Long in the Indoesian Open and that’s why he rose to number 10th in the World ranking. He won 1 tournament and reached 2 semi finals in 2015.

While in the doubles section there are no Indian pair in mixed doubles and men’s doubles in the top 25. While in women’s doubles Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponappa is placed at 15th ranked. Both of them are currently playing in the US grand Prix Gold event.

Indian badminton has been on the rise, especially in singles, with so many talented players in the making. Indian badminton needs to find men’s doubles and mixed doubles pair. They have 2 men’s doubles pair but not of the quality. It is important these Indian shuttler’s perform consistently to book a place in the Rio Olympics 2016.
