PV Sindhu defeated the Thailand opponent Ongabum in convincing manner to move into the finals of Macau Open Grand Prix Gold. The match went at 21-14, 21-15 to the Indian player. It was a complete performance by the Indian who did not allow the Thai opponent to come back into the match at anytime. The Indian player was exceptional at the net and also with smashes.

In the first set of the game, PV Sindhu dominated from the start. The Thailand opponent tried to come back into the match. PV Sindhu made use of her height and played some wonderful cross court smashes. At the interval it was 11-8 in favor of the Indian. After the interval the Indian was aggressive. At 17-14 the Indian raised her game and won the first set easily 21-14.

In the second set, the Indian was made to stretch a little bit by the Thai girl but her experience came to rescue. The Indian started off on positive note by taking 5-1 lead but the Thai girl came back into the match and leveled the set at 8-8. The Indian player committed less errors and the Thai girl committed lot of errors.

At the interval, it was 11-8 for the Indian. After the interval the Thai girl tried her best to force some mistakes. The Thai girl gave it all but the smashes and net play of the Indian teen sensation was too hot to handle, to lose the second game easily 15-21.

This win will give Sindhu much needed confidence going into finals. She is now number 11th in BWF rankings in the World. She has the talent of going the distance. She had won this tournament earlier in 2012. Her performance in the recent times has slowly been improving.

HS Prannoy is currently playing his semi-finals against the Hong Kong opponent. These two shuttler’s have done well for the country. He had earlier won the Indonesian open in August 2014.
