PV Sindhu defeated Yu Fei in the quarter-finals of the Macau Open Grand Prix Gold just a few moments ago. It was an excellent display by PV Sindhu who played excellent badminton and did not allow her opponent to come back into the match.  The match went the full distance to three sets as PV Sindhu won 21-13,18-21 and 21-14.

PV Sindhu took on Yu Fei in the quarter-finals stage. In the first game, PV Sindhu started off to a great start as the Indian player took an early 6-1 lead and looked in great control. At the interval, Sindhu led 11-8. After the interval, Sindhu continued to put pressure on the Chinese player and got points in succession to win the first set 21-13.

In the second game, the Yu Fei began on a positive note taking an early 3-1 lead. Sindhu tried to come back into the match but always trailing by 2 points. At the interval, Yu Fei led 11-8. After the interval, Yu Fei maintained the pressure despite Sindhu trying to come back into the match as Yu Fei won the second set 21-18.

In the deciding game, Sindhu began off well taking an early 3-2 lead and then raced to a 9-4 lead. At the interval, Sindhu led 11-5. After the interval, Sindhu was aggressive and did not allow Yu Fei to come back into the game and won the third set 21-14 progressing into the semi-finals of the tournament.

With this win, she progressed into the semi-finals of the tournament.
