Saina Nehwal beat Yui Hashimoto in straight sets 21-15, 21-11 in the semi finals of Yonex Indian Open Super Series at the Siri Fort Complex in New Delhi just few moments ago. It was a dominating performance by Saina who was on top her game through out and did not let her opponent comeback in the match. Game was watched by house-full crowd.
In the first game Saina got the first point. Hashimoto got a point back to make it 1-1. After that Saina took 3 consecutive points to make it 4-1 in favor of her. Then Hashimoto took 5 successive points to make 6-4 in her favor. After that Saina fought back and took 4 successive points to make it 8-7. At interval Saina lead 11-8. After the interval Saina took four successive points to make it 14-9. Hashimoto then took 2 points from 10 to 12 to make 15. Saina again took 3 successive points to lead 18-12. Then Hashimoto took 3 successive points to make it 15-18. Saina took the next three points to win the first game 21-15. The first game swung between two of the players well though Saina led throughout.
In the second game Saina took the first point. Then Hashimoto picked up a point. After that Saina got a lucky point at 2-1 by a drop at the net. At 3-1 Saina Nehwal hit an out shot to give Hashimoto a point. From 3-2 Saina got 8 points in a row to give Saina a commanding 11-2 lead at half time mixing good rallies and shots down the line. After the interval Saina continued to dominate Hashimoto. Hashimoto took 3 successive points to make it 6-17, the only time she made a fight in the second game. Saina was at 20-6 and Hashimoto took 5 successive points to reduce the gap to 11-20. Saina finished the game with Drop shot and won the game 21-11.
With this emphatic win Saina already ranked world no 1 woman badminton player stamped her superiority. She will square-off Inatanon in the final tomorrow.
