During the year 1999, while playing an ODI in New Zealand, two of the legends of Indian Cricket, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid were able to create history when they successfully piled up a huge 331 runs, highest ever partnership record. Now, two young South African cricketers, while playing in a domestic match, have created another new record of highest partnership by scoring 367 runs partnership.

Cameron Delport and Morne Van Wyk performed this miraculous feast while playing for Dolphins against Knights. The highlight of this achievement is that both the players played full 50 over from beginning till the end and remained not out. They created this superb figure during the fifth game of the Momentum Cup. Van Wyk contributed more when he scored 175 runs off 171 balls, closely followed by Delport who scored 169 of 130 deliveries.

Together, their partnership consisted of 11 sixes and 27 fours. With their heroic efforts their team won by 25 runs, despite a good fight put in by the Knights. The new record holders certainly deserve to be applauded, though it will be interesting to see which Indian pair overtakes them. Given the firebrand kind of batting we see in the events like IPL, impossible is nothing.
