Chennai Super Kings are back on track in the 2014 CLT20 after posting a 54 run win over South African T20 Champions Dolphins. With this huge win, CSK will have a big impact in the Net Run Rate after losing their first match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Dolphins have lost their second match on the trotas they lost to Perth Scorchers in the first match. Suresh Raina‘s 43 ball 90 and some lusty blows from Ravindra Jadeja towards the end took the game away Dolphins during the half way stage.

Dolphins started off brilliantly as their openers Morne Van Wyk, Cameron Delport and Cody Chetty piled on the runs in the first six overs before Mohit Sharma checked the runflow by picking two wickets in two overs before Dwayne Bravo came in and kept the Dolphins at bay by claiming the important wickets of Cody Chetty and Vaughn Van Jaarsveld before Nehra and Sharma cleaned up the tail. Dolphins were all out on the last ball of the innings for a total of 188. Delport, Cody and Jaarsveld got starts but failed to convert them into good knock.

Earlier put into bat, Chennai Super Kings made full use of the Bangalore wicket that has nothing for the bowlers as the batsmen went on a leather hunt against the Dolphins bowlers. McCullum scored a brisk 49 before Suresh Raina smashed the ball to all parts of the ground in his 43 ball 90 that includes 4 fours and eight sixes. Once he got out, Ravindra Jadeja took charge as he played a blinder towards the end of the innings and remained not out on 40 of just 14 balls. In the 20 overs, CSK made 242-6, the joint highest score in CLT20 history.

Brief Scores: CSK 242-6 (Raina 90, McCullum 49, Jadeja 40) beat Dolphins 188 (Delport 34, Chetty 38, Mohit 4-41) by 54 runs.
