Strengths:

  •          They have a pretty decent squad.
  •          They have many proven match winners.
  •          They are an exceptional fielding side.
  •          They are the most balanced side in the tournament.

Weakness:

  •          Playing in Indian conditions will add some pressure to the players.
  •          Absence of Quality Spinners.

Cape Cobras, who lost to Dolphins in the finals of the Ram Slam T20 challenge enter the tournaments as one of the favourites to win the tournament. Cobras will be without the services of Jacques Kallis, who chose to represent his IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders rather than his home team. They have a very strong top order with Hashim Amla and Richard Levi opening the innings followed by Van Zyl at number three.

The middle order containing JP Duminy, skipper Ontong and Kemp is reliable and can play according to the situation. They have couple of decent All Rounders in Kemp and Peterson. Their pace attack is the tournament’s best as they have Vernon Philander, Charl Langaveldt and Kleinveldt apart from couple of decent spinners in Peterson and Piedt.

The Cobras, placed in a tough group will look to end the tournament as winners and become the first South African team to win the tournament.

Possible Playing XI:Richard Levi, Hashim Amla, Dane Vilas, JP Duminy, Justin Ontong, Justin Kemp, Robin Peterson, Vernon Philander, Rory Klienveldt, Charl Langaveldt, Dane Piedt.
