Playe rs to watch out for:

Robin Uthappa:

The winner of the Orange Cap in the 2014 IPL, Robin Uthappa is on the National selector’s radar and might be included in the World Cup squad if he continues his good show in the CLT20. He was very consistent throughout the IPL as he managed to cross the 40 run mark in 10 consecutive occasion which is almost an impossible thing in T20. He looks confident and will look to set the CLT20 stage on fire.

Sunil Narine

Mystery spinner Sunil Narine is a champion bowler when it comes to T20 cricket. There are very few who possess as many tricks as the wily Trinidadian has. Be it the doosra, the off-spinner, the knuckle ball, top-spinner – you name it he will produce those on the spot. He is equally adaptable bowling in the powerplays and at the death. He puts the opposition batsmen under pressure and will make life tougher for them in Twenty20’s.

X-Factor:

Yusuf Pathan

Yusuf Pathan showed why he was brought using the Joker card in the 2014 IPL auctions during his whirlwind knock of 67 off just 22 balls, which is crucial in Kolkata’s triumph in the tournament. Yusuf Pathan is a batsman who is tailor made for T20’s. He can smash the ball out of the park at will and is very deadly against spin. In the past one year, he has improved against the pacers as he worked on the short deliveries which was termed as his weakness. He will look to make it to the Indian team and will CLT20 as the perfect platform for it.

Possible Playing XI:

Gautam Gambhir, Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, Ryan Ten Doeschate, Suryakumar Yadav, Andre Russell, Piyush Chawla, Sunil Narine, Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav.
