New Zealand is leading by one in the New Zealand vs West Indies Test series, 2014. In a three match test series, New Zealand won the first one.

New Zealand was in quite good shape in the first test match. On the other hand, West Indies has not given their full strength in this match.  New Zealand won their 1st match by 186 runs. Kane Williamson, Jimmy Neesham hit a ton in this match. BJ Watling, Tom Latham also played a responsible innings in that match but in the 2nd innings, New Zealand entered the dark hole and scored 156 runs overall. Tim Southee bowled well in 1st innings and took 6 wickets overall with average economy of 2.00. Mark  Craig, right arm off break bowler took 8 wickets with average economy of near about 5.00.

None of the Caribbean player clicked in the 1st match except Chanderpaul and Gayle in the first innings.

The 2nd test match between New Zealand and West Indies will be held at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad from 07:30 Pm IST.

New Zealand is having a good squad in this series. Kane Williamson, Jimmy Neesham, BJ Watling, Tom Latham could be the key player of the 2nd test match. Kane Williamson scored 113 off 298 balls with 12 bounadaries in 1st test 1st innings. His innings boosted their team in the 1st innings. He played 32 test matches till now with 6 centuries and 12 half centuries. He made his debut against India in 2010. Jimmy Neesham’s century in 1st innings of 1st test was icing on the cake. Jimmy played only 2 test matches where he scored he scored century in each match. He is in good shape right now. He could be devastating in the 2nd match too. But do not forget Brendon McCullum, though he did not click in the 1st test match. He has the potential to play a good innings worth of winning. This right handed batsman has played 85 matches in his continuing carrier with 9 centuries and 28 half centuries, Strike rate 60.54. and his highest innings is of 302 runs in his test carrier.

Mark Craig, right handed off-break Kiwi bowler made his test debut in the previous match and played quite well. He took 8 wickets with 4.82 average economy rate. His playing style is showing how he worked hard to get chance in the team and he succeeded. He could be the key bowler of this team. Right arm medium fast kiwi bowler Tim Southee made his debut against England in 2008. He played 32 matches till now and conquered 118 wickets in his carrier with an economy of 3.13. Ish Sodhi, Indian origin kiwi spinner could be also key player of this team.

Sulieman Benn, slow left arm orthodox, made his debut against Sri-Lanka in 2008. He took 5wicket 3 times and 4wicket 2times with 2.87 economy rate. He played 18 matches till now. His Is in quiet good form lately in last match he took 4 wickets with 2.5 economy. Shane Shillingford right arm off-break bowler could me the match turner . in last match he performed well. We can not forget Jerome Taylor  and Kemar Roach too, for the upcoming match.

In short, Kiwis have an advantage over the Caribbean team.
