The 40-time winner of the Ranji Tournament, Mumbai has been dismissed for just 44 runs against Karnataka, having lost their 9 wickets and Abhishek Nayar was reported Absent Hurt. The Ranji giants have reached an all time low and are being currently led by Aditya Tare, after SuryaKumar Yadav resigned from the captaincy earlier. Shreyas Iyer was the top scorer with 15 runs and only 2 batsman managing to reach the double figures , the other being SuryaKumar Yadav

Vinay Kumar picked up 6 wickets , giving away just 20 runs . Sreenath Aravind picked up 2 and Abhimanyu Mithun picked a wicket. Batting first , Karnataka scored 202 runs , thanks to the Indian discard Robin Uthappa who made 68 runs and Karun Nair , who made 49 runs. In their second inings , Karnataka are have scored 10 runs for th eloss of 2 wickets, with Uthappa and Lokesh Rahul back in the pavilion.

Mumbai Ranji side has lost several key players over the years and some being on the India duty have not been able to give their time to Mumbai side. Their run machine, Wasim Jaffer has not been to his best  and Rohi Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane are on the National duty.

Karnataka is the defending champion and looks all set to defend the title this time and managed to score 286 in their 2nd Innings. Mumbai are currently 61/0 (17.0 ov) and Mumbai require another 384 runs with 10 wickets remaining to win this match.
