IPL is probably the only tournament where veteran players have little chance to play in the highly competitive matches. The heroes who helped their respective teams to win the championship trophy was left out in the following season. The franchises like to keep young fit players in their team and did not buy unfit and old players. This policy of IPL franchises forced us to forget many heroes of IPL. The velocity and standout performances by players erased the many good memories of IPL from fan’s brain. Now, the time has come to remember some of the great match winners.
Paul Valthaty: He came into limelight when he scored a match-winning century for Kings XI Punjab against Chennai Super Kings in 2011. He was an important gun of Kings XI Punjab contingent. He used to open the innings for Punjab till 2012. He was reckoned a great opener as his sudden surge in top level cricket took everybody by surprise. He was one of the few players who recorded 4 wickets and a fifty in same IPL matches. However, on an unfortunate note, he was not picked up by any team after 2012 edition. In his IPL career, he scored 505 runs in 23 matches at an average of 23 with a century and a couple of the fifties.
