The sixth edition of the T-20 World Cup will be held in India next year. The top 10 full members will qualify automatically and the six other associate nations to qualify through the ICC World Cup T-20 qualifier to be held in Scotland and Ireland from 6th July to 26th July. The full member nations are well equipped of playing T-20 format.

Here we look at the 5 teams who have the potential to win the T-20 World Cup 2016:

1. India

With India playing the T-20 World Cup at home, they have a great chance of winning the title for the second time. The last time they played in the World Cup the Indian team lost to Sri Lanka in the finals of 2014 T-20 World Cup held in Bangladesh. Indian team has the experience of playing in the IPL that is held in India. The Indian team has a good batting order which comprises of Rohit Sharma, Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni and there might be chances that few youngsters can be included in the team. The bowling will depend on the spinners which include Ashwin, Jadeja and Kumar etc.

2. West Indies

West Indies is also a great T-20 side which has some big T-20 players. They have the ability to win matches on their own and can decimate any opponent. The openers include Chris Gayle, Dwayne Smith, Dwyane Bravo, Kieron Pollard, and Andre Russell which have the experience of playing in the Indian Premier League. The West Indies team has won the title in 2012. They lost in the semi finals of previous edition held in Bangladesh.

3. Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is the defending champions of the T-20 World Cup 2015. Sri Lanka have some quality players like Dilshan, Mathews, Thisara Perera but the main weapon for them would be Lasith Malinga can win matches with his quality bowling. Sri Lanka will be without their main players but they can effective as few of them have played in the Indian Premier League season. They know the conditions that will be there in India.

 4. New Zealand

New Zelaand too have good solid team which can win the World Cup T-20. Brendon Mucllum has done very well in T-20 format especially in the Indian Premier League playing for Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Kane Willamson have also played, Corey Anderson too has the experience of playing IPL. They have a poor record in T-20 format but it will be a great chance for NewZeleand to prove their worth.

5. South Africa

South Africa has never won a T-20 World Cup. Some of the South Africans players have the experience of playing in the IPL like De Villers, Du Plesis, Duminy, David Miller, and Chris Morris. These top players will help the team to prepare much better. Du Plesis did a great job by winning the T-20 series against Bangladesh and they will be playing T-20 series against India in October. They have the capability to win the tournament.
