Being a youngster and breaking Indian senior team is not an easy task considering the amount of talent that the country possesses. However, we look at 5 players with immense talent that they could claim a spot in Indian senior squad by 2019 World Cup.
5. Sarfaraz Khan
The 18-year old is arguably one of the best promising talents that India has in their hands. He has shown an unbelievable maturity at his tender age and has lots of potential as he already played few mesmerizing knocks in RCB jersey and made few unbeatable records at U-19 level.
4. Karun Nair
Karun Nair has been one of the finds in IPL as he proved that he has the mettle to excel against world class bowlers during his RR phase. He only went on to build on his reputation with Delhi Daredevils this season which earned him a call to the senior squad. The 24-year old should make the most of the opportunity if he needs to cement his place in Indian team.
3. Sanju Samson
One of the most gifted players in the upcoming generation, Sanju Samson has created waves with his bat during his time with Rajasthan Royals but has not been that effective with Delhi Daredevils. But he has the potential to come back stronger next season after a long domestic season lies ahead of him.
2. Yuzvendra Chahal
The 24-year old is arguably the best spinner in the last three seasons in IPL and has deservedly credited a place in Team India. Chahal has been 3rd highest wicket taker in 2014 and has been 3rd and 2nd highest wicket taker in the following seasons. The player has really excelled under the watchful eyes of Daniel Vettori over the years. Considering the ineffectiveness of Ashwin and Jadeja over the last few months, Chahal could just add to the variety in Team India’s spin attack.
1. KL Rahul
Considered by many as one of the most promising young talents, Lokesh Rahul has made his test debut against Australia couple of years back and has cemented his place in test cricket with his attitude to the game. With an exceptional IPL, he proved that he has the mettle to play limited overs cricket as well.
The player didn’t disappoint the selectors for their faith as he managed to score a century in his ODI debut becoming the first ever Indian to do so. If he continues the current form then definitely no one would doubt his selection in 2019 World Cup.
