AB de Villiers Keen To Be Like Brendon McCullum

South Africa captain AB de Villiers is one of the finest batsmen in modern cricket as he can be shown as the ideal player who can excel in all the three formats of the game at ease.
His technique and determination to read the situation and play accordingly makes him one of the absolute geniuses to ever grace the game. However, all is not well for the Proteas skipper over the past 12 months as injuries have taken a massive toll on his career as he is now keen to plan his career to play for as long as possible.
He has looked very good with the bat and captaincy ever since he returned back to the game last month as he led South Africa to a comfortable series win over Sri Lanka and has also managed a decent 2-1 lead over New Zealand away so far.
AB de Villiers has once again flourished with the bat in the series but has revealed that he would like to follow Brendon McCullum, who had done a brilliant job for Kiwis over the past few years before retiring from the game in 2015.
“I’m enjoying it now more than ever. I feel I have a good understanding of the game, a good gut feel of what’s coming and what’s going to happen. A guy like McCullum does that really well, he sees what’s going to happen in 10 overs’ time. That’s important for a captain.” he said while speaking to NZ herald.
Both the players play similar kind of fearless cricket in the limited overs and have become some of the finest hard hitters to ever play in the game. Both are different in their styles of play but has managed to have their impact on the overall game as a player as well as captain.
It would be tough job as captain for AB de Villiers to lead the side to a series victory against New Zealand away as the hosts are in remarkable form having not lost a series in the last 8 home ODI series.
