SOUTH Africa’s skipper, wicketkeeper-batsman AB de Villiers took his careers first and then a second wicket during the second ODI against New Zealand on Friday.

Playing his 170th ODI, AB de Villiers claimed his first ever wicket in the format when he had Tom Latham caught out to widespread joy from his teammates.

The all-round sports star then showed it was no fluke, taking his second wicket later in his spell to have 2-15 off four overs.

AB De Villiers’ dual wickets helped the Proteas beat the Black Caps by 72 runs at the Bay Oval to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
