They stunned us with their talent on field, their attitude and charisma on field but these ads took our breath away. We were in awe, we laughed, our eyes glistened – all emotions flowed watching these commercials and they made sensations as well as controversies.

FUN TURNED TO FIERCE :

To start with, we have the leader- Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Featured in innumerous ads he made a few very special, this one topping the list. In reply to a previous ad featuring Harbhajan Singh, this ad was a fun attempt. But things went in a bitter way as it angered Bhajju paji to file a case against the owner of the company, business tycoon Vijay Mallya. Made it real large, the ad guys!

WHEN DEMIGOD TURNED VILLAIN:

Another controversy came Dhoni’s way as he was featured in an ad representing Lord Vishnu, the Hindu God. But in his four hands he had various articles like mobile phone, engine oil, chips, beverages and even a shoe ! Indian mass reacted to this with rage and accordin to the Indian Penal code, as it is punishable to hurt anyone’s religious sentiments, the ad was taken off air immediately.

THE MAUKA THEY GOT:

This very recent commercial aired by the star network prior to ICC world cup 2015 became a trending topic as it showed the story of a Pakistani fan hoping to break the jinx that Pakistan can never win a match against India in the world cups. The jinx continued, and so did the advertisement, with teams changing.

DADA, WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU 

This ad, primarily made in support of Indian Cricket team, started making rounds as it hit the emotional chord of every cricket-crazy( read ‘dada’ crazy) fans in India. As his exclusion from the team was a controversy, the fans’ emotions matched the line of the ad- “Dada ko bhule to nahi?”

IRONY OF ALL TIME :

Yuvraj Singh, the true hero who fought cancer successfully, won many hearts with the way he ornamented his career. This commercial came in the meanwhile as Yuvraj was detected positive with cancer. So ironic as the life insurance ad says, people all over had their hearts concerned for the player about his comeback to the game. Thankfully, he is on his feet with the bat in his hands.
