Ajinkya Rahane’s Diwali Gift To Bayern Munich Star Arjen Robben

Ajinkya Rahane, India’s vice-captain in Tests, received a pleasant surprise on the occasion of Diwali. The Mumbai batsman was presented with a jersey from his favourite football club FC Bayern Munich with his name ‘Ajinkya’ and number ’27’ inscribed on it. The German club also wished the Indian cricketer a very happy and prosperous Diwali.

Delighted by the gift, the cricketer took to Facebook to appreciate the football club’s effort and promised to give them a surprise gift in return.

As promised, the Mumbaikar gifted the club his Indian team jersey with his name printed on it. On receiving the return gift, Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben posed with the jersey with a wide smile on his face. The picture was posted by the club on their official facebook account as they wished Rahane and everyone in India a happy Diwali once again.

The caption of the photograph read “Arjen Robben certainly enjoyed receiving his Diwali gift from Ajinkya Rahane! We hope all our Indian fans had a very happy Diwali!.”

After a brilliant Test series against New Zealand, the right-handed batsman failed to replicate that form in the recently concluded ODI series. Promoted in the batting order, Rahane was getting starts but failed to capitalise on them. With England all set to visit India for a five-match Test series, Rahane will look to pile on runs once again.
