Of late Akshar Patel has been gaining limelight owing to his recent splendid performance in the ongoing CLT 20. Kings XI Punjab skipper George Bailey who has already appreciated the vital contribution rendered earlier by Akshar Patel has once again praised the fabulous performance of Patel against Cape Cobras. The 20 year old Patel took 3 wickets for 15 runs and became the Man of the Match.  Underlining the specialty of Akshar Patel, Bailey said “He can bowl in any situation and can be a real match-winner for us. So, that has been really pleasing. In terms of an all-round package, he is pretty special. In terms of his batting, in terms of his fielding skills, he is important to us. And his bowling tops it off.”

Bailey further applauded his wicket-taking act by stating “He contains, he takes wickets and he does it with a short sleeved shirt which is pleasing.” It is worthwhile to mention that Kings XI Punjab won the match by seven wickets and grabbed the top position in the B group as they have won all 4 matches.

Bailey was also seen appreciating other bowlers of his team by adding “I was proud with the way our bowlers pulled it back, particularly Awana, his last two overs were outstanding….”

Let us hope that the rigorous efforts put in by hardworking Akshar Patel will result in fethching a birth in the upcoming Indian squad against West Indies.
