Alastair Cook the left handed English batsmen and the captain of ODI and Test side of England might be in doubt in the upcoming 2015 World Cup. Former England spinner Ashley Giles who had an extraordinary career and also expressed concern over the form of Captain Alastair Cook ahead of the ICC World Cup 2015. Many former players like Darren Gough and Michael Vaughan have called for stepping down of Cook after the losing badly 5-2 to Sri Lanka in the recently finished One-Day International (ODI) series. This might have given a huge blow to the England team and specially to the English captain and it is very hard for him to recover from that.
Cook is simply not playing that well and deserves to be dropped, exclaimed Giles. Alastair Cook is under pressure and that is one of the main reason that he is not performing well. He hasn’t been playing that well and performing upto his zeal for a year and going into a World Cup your leader is very much important, but in the same time having 15 players in that squad who can perform and win games for England. But Alastair Cook is defiant and says he will not step down as captain of the England side. He will still try to get his form back and perform for his country. Cook still thinks he can lead the English team to zenith of success. Cook has represented his country in 86 ODIs and scored at an average of 37.62.
