The ongoing turf war within the BCCI reached a new high altogether when board secretary Anurag Thakur slammed N. Srinivasan as he went on to say that before speaking about someone else, the ICC chairman should share the bookie related information to his family members first “whose involvement in betting has been proved”. Thakur was earlier was spotted Karan Gilhotra who, according to ICC, is an alleged bookie.

But according to reports, Gilhotra, who socialises with Bollywood celebrities and even sportpersons primarily cricketers, has been seen in photographs with Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Salman Khan. With respect to this, it will be interesting to watch whether ICC’s stand for those big names will stay the same as one taken against Thakur.

Karan Gilhotra, who comes from a small village called Ghaniani near Fazilka in Punjab, features in the Limca Book of Records for being the youngest ever sarpanch in India at the age of 21 years and four months.

As per a report in The Indian Express, he moved to Chandigarh a few years ago, where he owns a Honda dealership and franchise of Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s ‘Being Human’ apparel chain.

During an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Gilhotra said:

“I have known Anurag [Thakur] for 10 years,” he said. He is a good friend. I am friends with a lot of people in the cricket fraternity and other celebrities. If you are seen socialising with somebody it does not mean that you are doing something wrong. If there is any such list that they have prepared sitting in their offices, why did not they share it with me or informed me?”
