Allegations are on the air as Former Indian Captain Anil Kumble and Pacer Javagal Srinath walk out from the Annual General Body Meeting of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), Accusing the current set-up of KSCA for misusing the funds.
Kumble who was appointed as the President of KSCA in 2010 for a period of three years has accused the state body of misusing the funds, stating that the funds are being spent on clubhouses rather than utilizing them on cricket.
When Interviewed by the media Kumble said one should be member-friendly, the three year that they were there the only thing that they heard was they were not member friendly, and that was ridiculous. He said you are here for a case by the association for the development of cricket and that should be the top priority. It should be both cricket and user-friendly, He also added that they were the one who established the clubhouses.
Kumble India’s highest wicket taker in test (619 wickets in 132 tests) tried to play the administrator as KSCA president with India teammates Venkatesh Prasad (vice-president) and Javagal Srinath (Secretary) to assist him.
Kumble also took his toll at the present President of the KSCA Ashok Anand, stating that all the meeting were pre-setups and the members has lot to say than the president itself which seemed disappointing. While they have a sitting of 129 members being a part of sub-committees hardly meeting or sitting together to discuss issues, while we only have 10 members. Obviously less on numbers but we will not back down and will surely stand for what I feel is correct.
The former Indian Pacer Srinath also supported his former teammate in staging the walkout, agreeing on the fact that the present set-up is deviating from its path.
Srinath emphasized on the point that Karnataka should have turf wickets throughout as the still play 41 percent of their cricket in Mysore and Bangalore. On his tenure of three years they tried to put this thought into action.
All we want to promote is cricket, these were the words from Srinath as he said they were not looking to get into the administration job and were not aiming for all these all they want is better development of cricket.
