Anil Kumble mesmerised with facilities in U.S.A.

After the month-long late night Test series, now it’s for fans to enjoy some T20 action as the players move on to a new country the United States, which is still pretty much alien country to cricket as the condition of the game in that part is same as the condition of other sports in India (apart from cricket). The people only watch it when there is some big event going on like Olympics.

Both the teams have reached there with a sweet message of popularising the game in the country. They are served the best of the facilities there and are pretty satisfied with that. Especially the head coach of Indian cricket team, Anil Kumble. He is mesmerised by the facilities at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Florida which will host the T20I’s clash on consecutive days. He showered praises on the facilities here in the press conference and said

“I certainly didn’t expect the facilities to be as good as what it is in the United States, I certainly felt that it could be a makeshift. I had heard about Florida and this ground, but very impressed with the facilities that we have seen today. It’s the first time that I’m seeing this ground and the wickets are good, ideal probably for a T20, and the practice facilities have been good, the outfield looks fantastic. So all in all really impressed with the facilities here.

“It’s a wonderful initiative and we are really looking forward to our matches here, it’s going to be a sellout. We know the US…the expats and the huge Indian diaspora who are wanting for quality cricket to come to the US. We have played in the past in the West Indies and a lot of Indians come over from the US to watch us. So this is a great opportunity for all of them and I’m sure this is the start of a new beginning in the United States and I’m sure there will be a lot more of the Indian team in the US going forward.” said mesmerised Kumble.

He also discussed the success of Indian team on Caribbean soil and seemed to be impressed by the players

“Of course the start [of coaching career] always makes it that much sweeter when you’ve had success and I can’t ask for a better set of players in terms of what I want from them,” Ku” They are extremely committed, very disciplined and you tell them what you need and they are ready to put their hand up and do it”.

Commenting on pairing up with M.S. Dhoni for the first time an exciting Kumble says “This is the first time that I’ll be working with MS, obviously we have played together over a long period of time and we had a chat yesterday and today as well. I’m really looking forward to working with him and the new set of boys like Bumrah who’s joined as well. I’ve worked with him in the IPL so it’s nice to be a part of the India dressing room again.”

This will be the first time when team India will be participating in an international cricket match in U.S.A whereas West Indies players have experience of playing here in U.S. before when they played against New Zealand in the year 2012.

Talking of the ground, the Central Broward Regional Park has previously hosted four T20Is in the year 2010 and 2012. In the year 2010 New Zealand took on Sri Lanka in two matches T20I series. The series ended in a draw with both the team winning a game apiece. New Zealand again played two matches T20 series here, this time against West Indies. The West Indies team won the series as they won both the T20’s comfortably.
