Anil Kumble Trolls Parthiv Patel On His Birthday

When Parthiv Patel got a call from the Indian team in 2002, he became the youngest wicket-keeper batsman to play Test match cricket. One member of the Indian team management was there when Parthiv debuted – Anil Kumble, the current India head coach. But as time progressed, he fell down the pecking order with the likes of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik getting the nod ahead of him.
But it did not stop him from becoming a big name in the domestic circuit. The Gujarat star is one of the most consistent batsmen in the domestic arena and has scored over 10,000 runs. He recently led Gujarat to their maiden Ranji Trophy title. But despite all these accomplishments, the wicketkeeper-batsman has not been able to stop his teammates from taking a dig at his height.
Last year, Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh trolled him him mercilessly after Anil Kumble had posted an old picture of the Indian team on Twitter. And the ex-India leg-spinner has once again taken a dig at his former teammate on his birthday.
Posting a picture of Parthiv alongside a tall man, Kumble tweeted:“Wishing a very happy birthday to @parthiv9! Wishing you nothing but the best in the coming years.”

Well, Anil Kumble has never spoken anything about Parthiv’s height in his tweets but as they action speaks louder than words and this tweet clearly proves it.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat stalwart has turned 32. Currently out of the Indian team, he had impressed during the England series last year after returning to the Test team following an eight-year gap. He was recalled to replace an injured Wriddhiman Saha but now that India’s first-choice wicketkeeper is fit, Parthiv had to make way. He has played 23 Tests and 38 Tests so far, scoring over 1,500 international runs.
