Mamata Bannerje has made an announcement regarding Ankit Kesri, the recently deceased cricketer from East Bengal. The Bengal Chief Minister has handed a job to Ankit Keshri’s elder brother.

The announcement was made in Namkhana during a government conference. Kesri was hospitalized on April 17th with a head injury during his game with East Bengal, fielding for his club.

There have been many questins over his death, including the matter of his transfer from one hospital to another following an official club order. A formal complaint has been lodged with the city police commissioner, and matters are a t a standstill as of yet.

Kesri was a former Under-19 captain, and was playing a knockout match for the Bengal senior tournament when he passed out and was later hospitalized.

Kesri’s father runs a tea shop and has requested Mamata Bannerjee to offer the job to his elder son so he can contribute to bring income into the household.

She also offered jobs to the widow of Masadur Rahman Baidya, the double amputee swimmer. Masadur Rahman Baidya was an amazing swimmer. 18 years ago he swam across the English Channel, creating waves of media around him when he did.

Baidya died on 29 April after suffering from multiple organ failure. He had been admitted into a city hospital.
