Ashes 2017/18: Mitchell Johnson Takes A Dig At Virat Kohli
Nov 26, 2017 at 5:38 PM
Former Australia speedster Mitchell Johnson’s rivalry with India skipper Virat Kohli is well-known and looking at his latest tweet; it seems the pacer is yet to get over it.
With so much at stake in the Ashes, players tend to lose their cool, and one such incident was witnessed on the fourth day of the ongoing series-opener at the Gabba when emotions got the better of England’s veteran fast-bowler James Anderson
The incident took place as early as in the fifth over of Australia’s second innings when debutant Cameron Bancroft was facing Anderson. With only 170 runs to defend, Anderson & Co. had their task cut out and perhaps to rile up the Aussie opener so that he makes a mistake, the England pacer threw a ball towards the batsman after the latter drove a fuller delivery towards the bowler. The ball hit Bancroft on the waist, but the youngster did not even budge, coping the throw at his body and giving Anderson a stare.
Here is a tweet showing the incident:

Meanwhile, the incident reminded many of the ones which took place when India toured Australia in 2014. Kohli and Johnson were involved in a similar incident as the Aussie pacer had thrown the ball towards Kohli after the latter pushed a delivery back to the bowler/
One such fan took to Twitter to compare the latest incident with the one that took place three years ago, writing and tagging Johnson: “Same like @MitchJohnson398 did to Virat.”

However, Johnson did not take the comparison kindly as he wrote:“Not even close.”

Well, Johnson, who rarely leaves any chance to take a dig at Kohli, is perhaps right with his latest comment as the current India skipper was not amused with the throw and had fired back with a barrage of verbal volleys after being floored by the throw.
Meanwhile, talking about the ongoing game in Brisbane, Australia finished the day on 114 for 0 while chasing just 170. David Warner was batting on 60 while Bancroft was unbeaten on 51.
