United Arab Emirates or UAE qualified for the 2016 Asia Cup T20 after finishing top of the points table in the recently concluded qualifying tournament.
UAE earned their spot into the 13th Asia Cup and 1st Asia Cup T20 after beating all the three other teams in the qualifying round. The teams were Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Oman. It is the 3rd time that UAE will participate in the Asia Cup after 2004 and 2008 Asia Cup.
Associate nation UAE is very desperate to make some upsets in the Asia Cup by beating some big teams. As they were unable to qualify in the 2016 World T20, the Asia Cup tournament is their only big platform to show their ability in the front of the cricketing world.
Currently, UAE is in very good form in the shorter format of cricket. They were unbeaten in the last 4 T20Is. Though they played all the matches against the associate nations, it can be easily said that their recent performances will give them some confidence before beginning of the tournament.
