The Asia Cup T20 will start from February 24. This five-nation series will be a preparatory camp for the Asian countries in the World T20. The Asia Cup will be played in T20 format for the first time considering the World T20 knocking at the door. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong will play the tournament. This 24-year-old Pakistani bowler has made a comeback in international cricket after serving five years of ban in international cricket. But in his first international in New Zealand, he is as good as five years ago. In the ODI series against New Zealand, he took five wickets in two matches and conceded just 67 runs. His use of popping crease and outswingers were clueless to New Zealand bowler.
This 21-year-old Hong Kong star played an instrumental role in deciding Hong Kong’s World T20 2016 qualification. He will play in Asia Cup. His performance will decide Hong Kong’s future in the tournament. He played 13 T20 matches and scored 286 runs with a highest of unbeaten 63.
He has been adjudged the of ICC Emerging Player of the year for his performance against India and South Africa. He rattled the Indians in the very first match taking five wickets. In the next ODI, he took six wickets with a hattrick. As the Asia Cup will be held in Bangladesh his leg cutter will trouble opponents batsmen. So, everybody has o be alert of his bowling.
This Sri Lankan batsman has played just one match against Pakistan in last August. He could not do much. He rose to the rank of U19 World Cup. He has a reasonable first class career with an average of 35. He has been selected for three matches India tour. His performance will be scrutinized before the Asia Cup and T20 series.
