Left-arm spinner Ashton Agar has been recalled to the Australia’s squad for the fourth and the final Test against India to be held at Sydney. Rest of the 13-man squad that regained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy following a draw in the Melbourne Test remains the same.

Agar made his Test debut against in Ashes 2013 at Trent Bridge and straightaway entered the record books by scoring 98 runs at number eleven, also combining with Late Phillip Hughes for a world record final wicket stand of 163.

With series already in Australia’s hands, Smith might think of resting Mitchell Johnson, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon so as to keep them fresh for the tri-series and the World Cup. It’s likely that their places will be taken by Peter Siddle, Mitchell Starc and Ashton Agar respectively.

Australia’s squad for Sydney Test:

David Warner, Chris Rogers, Shane Watson, Steven Smith, Shaun Marsh, Joe Burns, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Johnson, Ryan Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Peter Siddle, Ashton Agar, Mitchell Starc

Probable Playing XI:

David Warner, Chris Rogers, Shane Watson, Steven Smith, Shaun Marsh, Joe Burns, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Starc, Ryan Harris, Ashton Agar, Peter Siddle
