Australia vs India – Day 3 Tea Report: Pujara and Kohli propel India towards a big score

Resuming from 119-2, India scored 104 runs in the second session and were goint strong on 223-3 at tea on day 3. Pujara continued from where le left and scored yet another fifty before he was very unlucky to get out bowled to Nathan Lyon for a well made 135 ball 73. Ajinkya Rahane looked shaky in his 36 ball 19 and is unbeaten along with Virat Kohli, who is looking good on 48.  

Lunch Report:

Opener Murali Vijay gave India the kind of start they expected in India’s first innings on day 3 of the first test match against Australia at Adelaide. India end the first session on day 3 at 119-2 the hosts declared their first innings at their overnight score of 517-7.

Vijay, who looked good for a big innings just got out before lunch for 88 ball 53 which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. Vijay stitched together a partnership of 81 with Cheteshwar Pujara who is batting on 34 before Mitchell Johnson had him caught behind.

Shikhar Dhawan got India off to a flier as he smashed Aussie trump card Mitchell Johnson for 14 runs in his second over. Dhawan looked good in his short stay of 25 off 24 balls which was ended by dragging a Ryan Harris’ incoming delivery onto the stumps. Pujara looked solid in his 77 ball stay will look to continue the good work with Virat Kohli (3*), who was given a warm reception by Johnson after the bowler hit him on his head off the very first he faced.
