Bangladesh have announced  a 15- man squad for the 3 ODI series against India this June. The selectors have brought in several new faces and many out of form players have been shown the way.

Imrul Kayes, Arafat Sunny, Naeem Islam and Shafiul Islam have been left out of the team and the dashing opener Tamim Iqbal returns back after missing the Asia Cup due to a neck injury.

All rounder Ziaur Rahman  has been retained and this meant that Rubel Hossain has missed out.

Fast bowler Taskin and wicket keeper batsman Mithun are the new faces to the squad. Both of them have played T20 for Bangladesh before. About their selection, Chief selector   Faruque Ahmed  said that their selection will add to the bench strength of the team ahead of the 2015 World Cup.

But the elimination of Rubel Hossain has raised several questions  as he was their leading wicket taker in 2013-14 season. The only excuse which the selectors have is his high economy rate.

Al-Amin Hossain has managed to get the confidence of the selectors and will partner Masrafe Mortaza in the pace department. Faruque also backed Mahmudullah  to bowl well in these conditions.

What is the inclusion of Mithun Ali indicating? Is Bangladesh cricket’s think-tank thinking of lifting up the pressure from Mushfiq the wicketkeeper? Are they thinking of utilizing Mushfiq only as a batsman? They don’t wish to see Anamul as wicketkeeper as well I guess.

Earlier Sarwar Imran was named the assistant coach of the side for this series.

All the three matches will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on June 15, 17 and 19.

Bangldesh Squad: Mushfiqur Rahim (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Anamul Haque, Shamsur Rahman, Mominul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Nasir Hossain, Mahmudullah, Mithun Ali, Abdur Razzak, Masrafe Mortaza, Shohag Gazi, Ziaur Rahman, Al-Amin Hossain, Taskin Ahmed.
