Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has turned down an offer of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to tour the country for two matches T20I series after ICC Champions Trophy 2017. In addition to that, the Bangladesh Board has also turned the compensation demanded by the PCB after Bangladesh did not travel the country citing security issues.
It was PCB that invited Bangladesh for a short tour in order to recuperate the international cricket in the country but their hopes met a blow when BCB also denied the offer to tour the country. Earlier, West Indies cricket team also denied Pakistan’s offer to tour the country citing security issues only.
However, it is to be noted that Pakistan is scheduled to tour Bangladesh in the month of July/August and with Bangladesh declining PCB’s offer, it can have a retrospective effect and Pakistan might also cancel their tour to Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Shaharyar Khan, who resigned for the post of PCB Chairman has said that he will be taking up this matter in the next ICC meet. Along with it, he will also be taking the issue of India-Pakistan bilateral series as well.
