Chasing a mammoth target of 481 the South Africans were bowled out for 143 in the second innings.

The second Test match at Bangalore was washed out due to rain.  “BCCI announces an award of Rs.2 crore to the Indian Cricket Team for their 3-0 series win against South Africa,” BCCI tweeted on Monday.

As a result, with this win Indian team jumped to the second position in the ICC test team rankings while South African still remains the number 1 test team in the world. Every team member in the team contributed to the success. It is a great achievement for the Indian team to beat the top ranked test team in the world who did not lose any away series since the last 9 years were outplayed in all departments.

India does not play any Test matches for few months. In 2016, the Indian team plays Australia in 5 One day Internationals and 3 T20’s. The main focus for the Indian team is the T20 World Cup in 2016 which will be held in India.
