The Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) today has named Biswarup Dey, the Treasurer of the Honorary Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), as the newly appointed manager of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming tri nation series involving the host nations, viz., Australia and England.
As of now, the 56 year old former Indian player Arshad Ayub is with the Virat Kohli led Indian test side as the manager of the Indian team of test cricket format, from the day after he was appointed as the team manager for the four match Test series between Australia and India in Australia. Though the following tournament has not been very pleasing for the man Ayub as India is trailing in the form of 2-0, many speculations were being held of Ayub holding office for longer terms and periods. But, irrespective of their comments and notions, their offers and propositions were turned down lately and the name of the Honorary CAB treasurer Biswarup Dey was held confirmed by the officials.
Having already conceded the Gavaskar Border Trophy of 2K14 after a draw in Melbourne post a two – nil trail in the four-match Test series, India will now readily look forward to actively make an out of everything impact in the limited – overs tri series.
The tri – series and the ICC World Cup squad, to be led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni (assigned captain for the One Day International squad and the T20 squad of Indian cricket team), was announced on Tuesday. The tri – nation event will certainly to be acting as a major tune – up for the upcoming 50 – over format of ICC World Cup which is to be co – hosted by Australia and their fellow neighbouring island nation of New Zealand and which is scheduled to be starting from February the 14th of this year.
