The Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) has moved to Supreme court to disburse an amount of Rs. 1.33 Crores to host the remainder of Test matches against England. As per the implications of Lodha Committee, BCCI is not allowed to disburse money to the state associations and it is the Lodha Panel who now approves the bills of BCCI.
This thing, in fact, irked BCCI before the start of the series when BCCI openly said that they do not have funds to host England. However, later, Supreme Court allowed a certain amount of money to facilitate BCCI to organise the Tests series. Now, BCCI is again in need of money to organise the rest of the Tests and the apex board has decided to move to the apex court so as to get their demands fulfilled.
Supreme Court will hear the matter today, on November 7 at 3 P.M.
The fourth Test of the series will be played at Wankhede stadiums from November 8 before both the teams fly to the Southern part of the country to finish off the Test series in Chennai. Indian team is leading in the series by a margin of 2-0 with two games still left in the series.
