BCCI is planning to keep the Indian festive seasons of October – January as their slot only for the home series as these would lead to high revenues and will help players to be at home during the festive seasons.
This is a ploy employed by each top teams but not BCCI . This step by BCCI would enable them to increase their revenue, which is the highest among all the Cricket Boards and by a good margin.
This festive season includes Dussehra, Diwali , Christmas and ends with New Year in January and with so many holidays in the period, this will increase the nmber of onsite viewers.
As per this year’s home calendar, South Africa will visit India in October for a 4 Test match series followed by Sri Lanka and South Africa , who will be coming for a short tours.
The BCCI official said that there is a plan to have 2 home series during every festive season from this year onwards.
