BCCI’s (Board of Control for Cricket in India) Working Committee is scheduled to hold a Special General Meeting (SGM) on 19th February in Mumbai. In this meeting, they will discuss the Lodha Committee recommendations.
BCCI sources informed, “It’s a regular meeting of the Working Committee, which is scheduled at 11:00 AM, to be followed by the SGM.”
The SGM has been organised to figure out a way forward after being told sternly by the Supreme Court to “fall in line” with the far-reaching consequences of the report.
Two other items on the special agenda of the SGM are “discussion on the financial structure of the Member Boards of ICC (International Cricket Council) and the report of the Affiliation Committee of its visit to Chhattisgarh”.
In early January 2016, Lodha committee has recommended about the reform in BCCI. The Lodha committee was appointed by the Supreme Court while former justice Rajendra Mal Lodha or RM Lodha has been leading in that committee.
The committee was formed on January 2015, for taking a decision about the two franchise teams (CSK and RR) along with the recommendation reports of a restructuring of BCCI and fate of Sunder Raman, IPL COO.
