The Lord’s is by itself is the definition of Cricket to an extent. There has been many phenomenal events at the Eden of Cricket and this ground has immense historical significance. Throughout the years, India toured England several times and there has been 16 test series between India and England played in England till date. Thus, India played several times at Lord’s. In this article, we are going to emphasize on the best bowlers (in terms of wickets taken) for India at the Heaven of Cricket, Lord’s in Tests.

5. Amar Singh- Wickets: 10: Ladhabhai Nakum Amar Singh was a medium pacer for India and he played for India during 1930s period. He just played 2 matches at Lord’s and was able to clinch 10 wickets. He bowled a total of 113.5 overs there and conceded 230 runs. His best bowling performance here was 6 wickets by giving 35 runs in an innings.

Zaheer Khan-Wickets: 11: One of the most outstanding left arm pacers for India and also perhaps one of the best swingers of the ball, Zaheer Khan stands 4th in this list.He made his first tour to England in 2002 where India drew the series with England, 1-1. Zaheer has been pretty much consistent at Lord’s. He has taken 11 wickets at Lord’s in 3 matches he played over there. He was also the leading pacer in the Indian squad when they last toured England in 2011. Zaheer bowled 106.5 overs at Lord’s and conceded 290 runs. His best bowling figures here was 4 for 79. Unfortunately, this veteran pacer is not in the present Indian squad in England.

3. Anil Kumble- Wickets: 12: The legendary leg –spinner for India did make his name in this list. He first toured England as a member of the Indian squad in 1996. He has been able to extract the most out of the English seam favouring wicket and he bagged 11 wickets to his name in 3 matches he played at Lord’s.  He bowled a total of 185.2 overs and conceded 492 runs. His best bowling figures in an innings at here is 3 for 84. He played his last test at Lord’s in 2007.

2. Kapil Dev-Wickets: 17: The best all-rounder of India stands second in the list. Besides being a good middle order batsman, Kapil Dev was a phenomenal medium pacer for India and he was also the World Cup winning captain for India when they played the World Cup Final here at Lord’s. He bagged 4 wickets here at Lord’s and played 4 tests. He bowled 188 overs here and conceded 553 runs. His best bowling figures in an innings at here is 5 for 125 runs. He played his last test at Lord’s in 1990.

1. Bishan Singh Bedi-Wickets: 17: This left arm orthodox spinner bowled several brilliant spells for India. He was one of the leading spinners for India at a time and he tops this list with 17 wickets in 4 matches he played at here. He bowled a total of 204 overs and gave 492 runs and his best bowling figures in an innings was 6 for 226. He played his last test at Lord’s in 1979.
