Bhuvneshwar Kumar has set yet another record in the 2nd test match against England by facing the most number of balls by a batsman coming in at #9 position in a single series by facing 477 balls in this Pataudi Trophy, 2014.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been the stand out performer for the Indian team in this series against England with already bagging 15 wickets to his name so far and scoring 228 runs with a highest score of 66* and having an average of over 60 with 3 fifties to his name too.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has fulfilled the role of the all-rounder that the Indian team needs on such overseas tours especially considering that some of the big name players have not yet found their rhythm on the English soil.

Other names down on this rare list include the likes of Pakistan’s Asif Iqbal, England’s Stuart Broad, India’s Kiran More, New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori and also India’s Harbhajan Singh makes the list of players who played the most number of balls in a single series coming in to bat at #9.

The record of the most deliveries faced was previously held by Pakistan’s Saqlain Mushtaq who faced 447 balls in the entire series against Zimbabwe in 1996/97. The 18 year-old record was finally broken by the Indian seamer and with few more matches yet to be played on this English tour for the Indians, it looks like Bhuvneshwar Kumar is all set to extend his lead over the other players by a large margin by the end of the series.
