5 Biggest fights in India vs Pakistan contests

So the biggest stage is set and Eden garden is geared up to experience an epic clash between the arch rivals India and Pakistan. Both the teams are sweating it out hard to seal a victory here at any cost.

For Indians, the aim would be to win the game and keep their hopes alive in the tournament. Also, with this win, the Indian team will continue their winning streak against Pakistan in Word Cup. And for Pakistani team, it is a golden opportunity to seal a win here against the low in confidence Indian team. They will look to continue their form and will try their level best to put a break on the on their losing streak.

We have to wait till tomorrow to see that which team will emerge as the winner but for now let’s have a look at biggest fights between the two teams on cricket field-

Kiran More and Javed Miandad- In a world cup match between the two teams More was continuously poking Miandad from behind the stumps. Javed was distracted by this. He was too frustrated and angry that he stopped the bowler and straightway turned to his back and had a war of words with More. He also complained to the umpire and got ready to play next bowl. He played the next bowl and after that what happened left many stunned. Miandad after playing the bowl went back to the crease and jumped like a monkey twice. This scene left many stunned and also commentators were too surprised by this act from Miandad. Till now that two jumps from Miandad is an unsolved mystery that why he jumped like that twice.

Amir Sohail vs Venkatesh Prasad- In this epic encounter, it was the Indian bowler Venkatesh Prasad who had the last laugh. On 14.5 delivery of the Pakistani innings Amir Sohail struck a boundary off Venkatesh Prasad and after that proudly showed the bat to Prasad with an intention to play the same shot again. But the next delivery Prasad registered the biggest comeback and uprooted the stumps of Sohail and took a perfect revenge. Still this incident is remembered as one of the greatest comebacks by a bowler.

Shahid Afridi vs Gautam Gambhir- This could be termed as the biggest fight in the history of India and Pakistan clashes. Gautam Gambhir played a ball down the ground and went for a run but during this, he accidently shouldered Afridi that leads to a big fight. They both abused each other to hell and the fight continued for a long time. Finally, the matter was settled after umpires separated both the angry players.

Sachin-Sehwag-Akhtar- There was always a healthy rivalry between Sachin and Akhtar during the early 2000’s. In a world cup match in the year 2003, Akhtar was continuously bowling bouncers to Sehwag and was forcing him to play the pull shot, a shot that is the biggest weakness of Sehwag. Then Sehwag asked Akhtar to bowl a short ball to Sachin. The little master straightaway dispatched the short bowl towards boundary that went for a six. That shot is still fresh in the minds of cricket fans and is regarded as one the best shots played by Sachin in his career. After that six Viru went up to Akhtar and said “Baap Baap Hota hai and Beta Beta”. This statement became quite popular and still comes in minds of fans whenever they think about that incident.

Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Amir vs Harbhajan Singh- This is one of the epic fights in which an Indian player had the last say. In a tense match, the Indian team required 7 runs of 7 balls. Shoaib Akhtar bowled a dot ball and straight away went up to Bhajji to tease him which lead to a big fight. They both abused each other in Punjabi which was clearly heard by the commentators too. Young Mohammad Amir who was in the start of his cricketing career came to bowl the last over. He decided to follow the footsteps of his senior and he too tried to sledge Harbhajan Singh but Bhajji gave a perfect reply by hitting him for a huge six and sealing the game for the Indian team. Experienced Bhajji held his nerves and sealed the game for the Indian team.
