A Bit Harsh On Mishra To Get Dropped: Sourav Ganguly
The former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly, bats for Amit Mishra and has called his exclusion from the team – harsh, A bit harsh on Mishra to get dropped and I feel he bowled well in the second innings of (1st) Rajkot Test. I can understand from where the team management is coming with England having five left-handers. At times you pick horses for courses but the message has to be clear to Mishra that he was not dropped for poor form” he said.
Amit Mishra was dropped at the cost of debutant Jayant Yadav. Mishra ended the last match with match figures of 158/3. He scalped one wicket in the first innings of tailender Zafar Ansari, however, in the second innings he bounced back well getting out Joe Root and Haseeb Hameed. Since the completion of first Test, there were talks that he might be axed from the team but the inclusion of Jayant Yadav ahead of Mishra came as a surprise, 5 lefthanders in England team is the only reason behind him being axed.
Mishra can be called as unlucky as despite being consistent in peanuts of chances he has been given in his career, Mishra has never been able to cement his late in the team. In a career spanning more than 10 years, Mishra has just played 21 Tests and 36 ODIs. He has never ever given consistent chance to prove himself, this is one of another case, where he have been snubbed of an opportunity to prove himself.
