In the format of the game that is probably a curse for the bowlers, there are a few players who love bowling in the shortest format of the game, hence we bring you bowerls with most wickets in IPL, as they like it when the batsmen tries to go after them and losses his wicket.

This is probably the only way to take wickets in IPL, stick to your lengths and wait for the batsmen to commit a mistake, unlike in Tests or ODI where bowlers can have strategy in place which lasts at least for couple or more overs to pick a wicket.

In today’s article we will take a look at a list of bowlers who have picked up most number of wickets in IPL (All seasons):

*4W/5W denotes the number of instances when a bowler has picked 4 and 5 wickets in an innings

In the above list of bowlers with most wickets in IPL we present to you bowlers who have 90 or more wickets in IPL, to be precise there are just 6 bowlers having 90+ wickets in Indian Premier League.

In the past two days we have also seen two bowlers reach a dream landmark, which seemed to be dream to many. Yes, we are talking about 100 or more wickets in IPL. Malinga was the first player in IPL to take 100 wickets, batsmen found it tough to play in the starting few seasons and Malinga made the best use of that opportunity and is still on Top in the list of players with most wickets. On the second position is Amit Mishra, who reached the 100 wicket mark last season and also became the first Indian to reach there.

On 19th April 2015, Harbhajan Singh became the 3rd player with 100 wickets in IPL. He has been in good form both with the bat and the ball this season and as a result he has quickly reached the landmark.

The 4th and the most recent entrant in the 100 wicket club is Piyush Chawla who picked up 2 wickets on 20th April, 2015 and reached the landmark in style. We can see that the Top 4 list is dominated by spinners but closely approaching are two pacers in the form of VInay Kumar and Dale Steyn with 92 and 90 wickets respectively. If these two can make it to the 100 wicket mark this season then there will be a equality among the pace and spin bowlers at top.

Vinay Kumar also has the opportunity to become the first Indian pace bowlers to reach this mark.

Dwayne Bravo and R Ashwin are other two players who are in the hunt to reach this mark.

Who do you think will be on Top of this list by the end of this season? Malinga hasn’t been in best of his form which gives other a bright opportunity to take his place. But who will it be? Share your views with SPORTZWIKI.COM in the comments section right below, we would love to hear from you.
