Sitting in driver’s seat, Australia is having an advantage of 2-0 in the 4 Test series Down Under, the Indian cricket team faces a difficult challenge at the impressing Melbourne Cricket Ground on Boxing Day. Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar however feels mental strength will help the tourists stage a comeback.

Before the match Sunil Gavaskar spoke to the media that Gavaskar hoped Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s squad would come out with firing his all guns. He said that the Indian players will have to hoist themselves up mentally, more than anything else, because Australia is having the advantage of 2-0. He also said that if they can do that, if they score enough runs on the scoreboard and put Australia under pressure, anything can happen in this match.

Despite a brave fight India lost the 1st Test by 48 runs at Adelaide. In the Brisbane Test, the batting collapsed and the team lost inside 4 days. Even the former Indian opener was asked about the key to India’s success, he replied that it would be in Sydney and Melbourne which have slowed down over these years. He added that Melbourne as well as Sydney are the two best chances for India where the ball can turn. But India would really want to go there and to win the match they have to give their full strength.

The reports are saying that the Indian team may be wrestling disruption in the dressing room may have discourage fans, Sunil Gavaskar felt that Mahendra Singh Dhoni should be trusted when he insisted that no such spat had taken place between Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. He said that he thinks to doubt the Indian captain’s words is not the right thing to do. If he says there was nothing, there was nothing. Mahendra Singh Dhoni had said that a verbal quarrel between Kohli and Dhawan during the Brisbane Test were inventions of the media’s creative mind.
