New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum today scored the 4th fastest double century of all time against Pakistan in the third Test at Sharjah. He achieved this feat in 186 balls surpassing Virender Sehwag’s double century of 194 balls against South Africa in Chennai.

McCullum also scored the fastest century by a New Zealander in 78 balls on 28th November against Pakistan in the same Test match.

McCullum said it earlier that this Test is irrelevant for him as he his mind is not into this match. His thoughts are completely with Phillip Hughes and family and Michael Clarke. But this century is surely a tribute to Phillip Hughes, whose death has left the cricketing world especially Cricket Australia in deep pain.
