People all across the globe will find themselves extremely lucky to capture the West Indian legendary batsman Brian Lara taking part in a charity cricket match going to be held on upcoming 14th September, which is aimed at raising funds for the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation (RCSF).

If the reports published off late are to be believed, the God of Test Cricket, Lara will captain a selected eleven which will include the Ashes winning captain Andrew Strauss, former England wicket-keeper Paul Nixon and former England women’s captain Clare Connor. Lara, who is the RCSF ambassador and a father-figure for the organisation, patronised it by saying that he has never seen such gallons of enthusiasm for the game in Rwanda, and that there is plenty of natural talent over there. It is therefore; vital that for all to support the Rwandan Cricket Association in harnessing those immature and raw talents as it is believed that sport, on its own, can help in building the incredible progress that the country has made in the last twenty years.

According to the reports, they will be playing a thirty over One Day game and the match will take place at the Wormsley Cricket Ground in Great Britain. The funds will go directly to RCSF, a charity dedicated for the construction of first international cricket stadium in Kigali. The stadium will create a lasting legacy for the game in this wonderful country, said Lara. Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) chief Charles Haba said recently that Rwandan cricket has come a long way since it was originated back in the year 1999. Plenty of milestones, since then, have now been reached in spite of some major infrastructural challenges. All courtesy goes to the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation, as the planned national stadium will serve as a springboard for one of the fastest growing team sport in Rwanda to reach a playing audience we could only have dreamed of, he added further.

And a special thanks to the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation from all the enthusiastic cricket lovers around the World. It is only due to this agency that we all can vibe for a second chance to perceive such a legendary maestro stroll down the 22 yards and swing his bat to make the ball directed exactly towards the boundary rope.
