Today was the 16th match of the Big Bash League 2014-15. The match was like a roller coaster. Intially it looked like that Brisbane Heat has put some good runs on the board and they were winning till the half of the 2nd innings. But Travis Head and Alex Ross turned upside down and magically scored runs and brought victory to Adelaide Strikers. Here are the Hits and Flops of the match.

Hits of the Day

1. Peter Forrest

Peter Forrest scored the 2nd highest runs and the valuable runs too. He came to bat first and with the help of Jimmy Peirson he managed to score 60 runs in the opening partnership. After his dismissal the team struggled and finally overcame after losing few wickets.

2. Craig Simmons

Craig Simmons on an average performed really well. His bowling was really good and batting somewhat okay. In bowling he picked up 2 wickets in his 4 overs and gave away 26 runs with an economy of 6.5. In batting he scored only 15 runs.

3. Travis Head

Travis Head was indeed the best batsman today. He scored a half century. When he came to bat the team was in big trouble. He lifted his team and finally won the match. He scored 57 runs from 40 balls with a strike rate of 142.5 and hit 3 fours and 3 sixes.

4. Alex Ross

Alex Ross was another player who stood by Travis Head and helped him and his team to victory. But he was unable to hit the victory runs in the end and was dismissed when they team needed 3 runs to win. The team finally won. He scored 36 runs in 24 balls with a strike rate of 150 and hit 3 fours and 1 six.

Flops of the Day                    

1. Daniel Christian

Daniel Christian was the only batsman who didn’t perform well from Brisbane Heat. He scored only 6 runs whereas others scored in excess of 20 runs.

2. Kane Richardson

Kane Richardson was very expensive and unsuccessful today. In his 4 overs he gave away 30 runs with an economy of 7.5. He didn’t get any wicket and left empty handed.

3. Kieron Pollard

We expected big things from the big man, Kieron Pollard. The top order was not doing well. When he came everyone had huge expectations but contrary to those he scored the lowest runs.

4. Ryan Duffield

Ryan Duffield gave away the maximum runs today and was the most expensive bowler. In 4 overs he gave away 32 runs with an economy of 8 and didn’t pick any wickets.
