Today was the 9th match of the Big Bash League 2014-15. We have seen some great performances today. Rob Quiney almost secured a win for his team but he was unable to score 5 runs of the last ball and his team lost by 1 run. Here are the Hits and Flops of the match.

Hits of the Day

1. Chris Lynn

Chris Lynn was just 2 runs short of a half century today. The early dismissal of the opening batsmen created pressure on him to score runs. But he handled the pressure well and scored good runs and showed his team a way to win. He scored 48 runs in 34 balls with a strike rate of 141.2 and hit 5 boundaries and 1 six.

2. James Faulkner

James Faulkner was good with his bowling. He didn’t give much runs and picked up 2 wickets. He gave away 26 runs in 4 overs spell with an economy rate of 6.5. He was the best bowler from his team today. His batting performance was also great. He scored 34 runs.

3. Luke Wright

Luke Wright performed well in spite of the pressure. Although his team lost but he scored good runs in the start of the innings after the dismissal of the opening batsmen. He scored 33 runs from 23 balls with a strike rate of 143.5. He hit 3 boundaries and 1 six.

4. Ryan Duffield

Ryan Duffield bowled very well till the last over of the match. In the last over he was a bit expensive but snatched the win from the opposition. In his 4 overs spell he gave away 28 runs with an economy of 7. He picked up 3 wickets and took a maiden over.

5. Rob Quiney

Rob Quiney perfomed really well in the death overs. He pushed his team to edge of winning when it was needed 5 runs of the last ball but he was able to get only 3 runs and his team lost by 1 run. He scored 45 runs in 31 balls with a strike rate of 145.2. He hit 1 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Flops of the Day                    

1. Daniel Christian

Daniel Christian was disappointing today. He scored a mere 4 runs today. He was the opening batsman and all hopes were on him but he disappointed. He was dismissed by John Hastings in the 4th over.

2. Michael Beer

Michael Beer really disappointed with his bowling today. He picked up no wickets and gave lots of runs. In his 4 overs spell he gave away 30 runs with an economy of 7.5. Everyone from Melbourne Stars expect he took wickets.

3. Cameron White

The skipper, Cameron White, was unable to carry his team towards a victory. He didn’t show some magic and was able to score only 4 runs. He was dsmissed by Ryan Duffield in the 5th ball of the innings.

4. Ben Cutting

Ben Cutting gave away lots of runs in short span. His high economy might have been much worse but other bowler’s great performance saved the match. He gave 25 runs in just 2 overs with an economy rate of 12.5 and picked up no wickets.
