Can Someone Please Gift A Mirror To Harsh Goenka, Says Ambati Rayudu After MS Dhoni’s Heroic Knock Against SRH

India middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu has totally savaged Harsh Goenka after Mahendra Singh Dhoni roared back to form with a brilliant match-winning knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday (April 22).

The World Cup-winning skipper, who was sacked as the skipper of Rising Pune Supergiant before the commencement of the tenth edition of the Indian Premier League, looked like a pale shadow of his usual self during the first five matches of the tournament, scoring just 61 runs at an poor strike-rate of 87.14 in the first five matches.

His poor form prompted the critics to take a dig at him and it also gave an opportunity to Harsh Goenka- the chairman of RPG Enterprises and the brother of Sanjiv Goenka — the owner of the franchise, to aim a shot at the former India skipper.

The franchise was already facing the heat for sacking Dhoni as the skipper of the team but Goenka sensed an opportunity to justify the decision when the newly-appointed skipper Steve Smith led the team to a thrilling win against Mumbai Indians in the opening game of the season.

After the match, Goenka had tweeted:

Harsh Goenka, MS Dhoni, Rising Pune Supergiant, IPL 2017

He was not done yet and took another dig at Dhoni after the 35-year old managed just 5 runs off 11 balls in the defeat to Kings XI Punjab.

Not taking Dhoni’s name directly, he tweeted:

Well, it was only a matter of time before Dhoni proved his worth as a batsman and the moment came against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Dhoni walked in to bat when Steve Smith was clean bowled by Rashid Khan with the scorecard reading 87 for two in 10.5 overs. The Pune-based outfit still needed 90 runs from the final 55 balls and the dismissal of the in-form Rahul Tripathi and Ben Stokes only piled up the pressure on Dhoni.

Dhoni, whose strike rate of 87.14 this season was the worst among all batsmen having faced 50 deliveries, began slowly and had scored  17 from 15 balls when the fifteenth over ended. Pressure built on Pune, as they needed 62 runs from the final five overs and the stage was perfectly set for the batting legend to mark his arrival.

In the 18th over, he hit Mohammed Siraj for a four and a six before blasting Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a couple of fours and a six in the penultimate over. With 11 needed off the final over, Manoj Tiwary and Dhoni managed to score nine runs from the first five balls, leaving Dhoni to score two runs from the final delivery. Then came the shot that shut down every critic. Dhoni hit the final ball for a beautiful four through the extra-cover to take his team home and  remained unbeaten on 61 off just 34 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes.

Ever since the knock, the fans and his well-wishers are going gaga over him but some are using as an opportunity to troll Harsh Goenka and Ambati Rayudu also joined the bandwagon.

Praising his India teammate for the knock, the Mumbai Indians batsman tweeted:“Great knock @msdhoni . Can some one plz gift a mirror to @hvgoenka.”
