With two of the Group A matches washed due to rain, the points table is evenly distributed. We have two very important matches coming up. Let’s look into the team buildup for the match.

Match 08: Perth Scorchers vs. Otago Volts

Venue:  Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur Time: 04:00PM IST What to Expect: Otago Volts are running on winning momentum with three qualifiers wins on their side. It will take some brave effort from the Scorchers to stop the Volts. Both the team will be high on confidence. But Scorchers will be playing their first match literally their first match of the league as their opening game got washed out. McCullum brothers have been the pivot of Volts and the team will rely heavily on them to perform. Players to watch out for: Ashton Agar [Perth Scorchers]: Teen sensation Ashton Aghar who scored a brilliant 98 in the Ashes will fancy his chances on the turning tracks of sub continent. Brad Hogg, the 42 year old will lead the spin department which the Scorchers rely heavily on. Brandon McCullum [Otago Volts]

Leading from the front with example, Brendon McCullum will look to go guns blazing from the very beginning. Having played in the all the seasons of the IPL, his experience on the Indian pitches will come in handy when they take on the largely inexperienced Perth Scorchers. A few hits that’s sails out of the park is expected of him from the fans as well.

Match 09: Rajasthan Royals vs. Highveld Lions: 3

Venue: Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur Time: 08:00PM IST Rajasthan Royals who kick started their Champions League T-20 with a victory over IPL champions Mumbai Indians will now face Highveld Lions in their second encounter of Group A league match. The Royals will be upbeat to post another win and consolidate their position in their league. What to expect: Royals have won all their last nine encounters at Jaipur, making it a fortress for them. Lions who had their first match washed completely has practiced hard for a week and will be looking to prove their mettle against Dravid’s team. An equal contest between bat and ball is expected. Fans will expect few fireworks from the Australian Shane Watson to light up the sky.

Players to watch out for: Shane Watson [Rajasthan Royals]:

Though Royals victories are often a team effort, one man who stands out is the explosive Australian Shane Watson. He is one guy who is capable of turning the match on its head. All rounder who is also handy with the ball will be the star player to watch out for. Lonwabo Tsotsobe [Highveld Lions]: The South African bowler will hold the fort for the Lions along Sohail Tanvir. If they could crack through the formidable top order with some early blows, Lions can make merry from there on. Neil McKenzie will be leading the batting for the lions and only a collective effort can break the Royals.
