Micheal Clarke is set to miss the Test series against India earlier next year due to his hamstring injury, which has been a big problem for him especially in recent times, with Clarke already facing 3 hamstring injuries in the past 12 weeks. This will be a measure by the CA to drop Clarke so that they can have him in the next year’s World Cup and the Ashes .

Pat Howard, CA’s manager of team performance said that Brad Haddin will be replacing Clarke as captain during the Test series against India , if he is able to be fit for the series . Otherwise, the most likely candidate for the captaincy position seems to be Steve Smith . Whoever becomes the captain in place of Clarke will be the 45th Test captain for Australia.

Clarke will now meet several hamstring specialists in Melbourne and Sydney to ensure his presence for Australia in the coming World Cup.

Howard also added that Clarke’s future as an ODI player will be thought of after the World Cup. He also talked about Nathan Coulter Nile , who came back from hamstring in 8 weeks.
