Chennai Super Kings taken a sweet revenge over Kings XI Punjab for as the Champion team stopped the dream run of KXIP and entered in to finals to play against Kolkata Knight Riders on 4th October at Bangalore for the Trophy.

After winning the toss, KXIP had a easy call to put CSK into bat. And straight away, McCullum and Smith were troubled by the swing of Awana and Anureet. In no time, both the players were seen back in pavillion. Soon after, Awana with a cunning plan by Bailey got rid of Raina as CSK were 3 down inside powerplay. But a steady stand from Bravo and Faf du Plessis rescued CSK. They both put on a stand of 67 in 46 balls before Faf departed for a 33-ball 46. Pawan Negi’s promotion didn’t worked for CSK as Negi and MS Dhoni were been sent back by Awana of consecutive deliveries to complete his hatric which included wicket of Raina, last ball of his previous over. Soon Bravo’s brilliant knock of 67 ended which came of just 39 balls. However, Jadeja’s slogging helped CSK to post formidable 182 for 7 on the board.

Chasing a stiff 183, KXIP never looked like to be in the chase. Starting with Sehwag’s duck, it followed with a failure of Vohra, Saha and duck of Maxwell as KXIP were in deep trouble at 24 for 4. It added lot more when Negi struck twice in same more to send back Bailey and Perera as KXIP were now looking to past 100 at least. Miller tried to be aggressive but fell to Ashwin for 22. But the stand out performer for KXIP with bat was Akshar Patel as he slowly scored his shots and was cleaned up by Raina for 31. With 90 for 9, Anureet Singh tried to hit a couple for clean hits as they were bowled out for 117 lossing by 65 run margin.

Chennai Super Kings: 182 for 7 in 20.0 overs (DJ Bravo 67, Faf du Plessis 46; P Awana 4/30, AR Patel 2/30) beat Kings XI Punjab: 117 all

out in 18.2 overs (AR Patel 31, DA Miller 22; A Nehra 2/9, SK Raina 2/10) 65 wickets
