Pawan Negi’s promotion didn’t worked for CSK as Negi and MS Dhoni were been sent back by Awana of consecutive deliveries to complete his hatric which included wicket of Raina, last ball of his previous over. Soon Bravo’s brilliant knock of 67 ended which came of just 39 balls. However, Jadeja’s slogging helped CSK to post formidable 182 for 7 on the board.
Chasing a stiff 183, KXIP never looked like to be in the chase. Starting with Sehwag’s duck, it followed with a failure of Vohra, Saha and duck of Maxwell as KXIP were in deep trouble at 24 for 4. It added lot more when Negi struck twice in same more to send back Bailey and Perera as KXIP were now looking to past 100 at least. Miller tried to be aggressive but fell to Ashwin for 22. But the stand out performer for KXIP with bat was Akshar Patel as he slowly scored his shots and was cleaned up by Raina for 31. With 90 for 9, Anureet Singh tried to hit a couple for clean hits as they were bowled out for 117 lossing by 65 run margin.
